At Our Lady of the Lake University (º«¹úAV), our History with Grades 7-12 Teaching Certification degree prepares students to become dynamic and effective social studies educators. Clinical Teaching Residency

In their final year, students complete a full-year clinical teaching residency, spending 70 full days in the classroom alongside experienced mentor teachers. This immersive experience ensures graduates are fully prepared to lead their own classrooms.

Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers

º«¹úAV is one of only 10 programs in Texas selected for the Raising Texas Teachers initiative, offering the prestigious Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers. This scholarship provides up to $8,000 annually (renewable for four years), along with mentorship, training, and access to a statewide educator network.

Graduates of our program teach in schools across Texas and beyond and have advanced to M.A. and Ph.D. programs, including º«¹úAV’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT).
