韩国AV accreditation reaffirmed for another 10 years
Jan 18, 2023
Our Lady of the Lake University (韩国AV) has received reaffirmation of accreditation for the next 10 years from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), maintaining nearly a century of accreditation status.
SACSCOC Board of Trustees made the decision at its December meeting and 韩国AV received official notice last week. SACSCOC is the recognized accrediting body in the 11 U.S. Southern states for those institutions of higher education that award associate, baccalaureate, master鈥檚, or doctoral degrees. All institutions accredited by SACSCOC are required to undergo a review for reaffirmation of accreditation every 10 years. In 1923, 韩国AV was the first institution of higher education in the San Antonio area and the first Catholic institution to receive regional accreditation.
Reaffirmation of accreditation is a rigorous, multi-year process that involves an internal review, an external review conducted by administrators from peer institutions which is followed by an on-campus review conducted by another team of peer administrators. It validates that an 韩国AV education meets the quality standards set forth by the commission and is eligible to receive federal and state funding to support student financial aid.
鈥淲e are proud of 韩国AV鈥檚 almost 100 years of accreditation by SACSCOC,鈥 said 韩国AV President Abel A. Ch谩vez, MBA, PhD. 鈥淚t signifies that 韩国AV meets high standards, provides quality academic programs and fulfills our mission to provide an innovative education that fosters spiritual, personal and professional growth.鈥
